Flickering lights can be annoying.
Switches include a spring, a moving conductive toggle contact and stationary contacts.
If you install a non-dimmable LED lamp in a circuit with a dimmer, it may operate normally for a short period of time (if at all) if the dimmer is at 100% or fully on. However dimming the lamp will cause erratic behaviour such as flickering, flashing, strobing or buzzing, and ultimately will cause damage to the lamp and the dimmer. Do not do this.
